Front end site design and development for Web Sites, Web Applications & Banners
Production of Flash-based web applications and tools
Creative concepting & brainstorming
Project management including interaction with the development team
Experience designing for a content management system is ideal but no
necessary.
Requirements:
BFA in Graphic Design, Interactive Media or related four-year degree preferred
Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite applications:
Dreamweaver

Illustrator
InDesign
Strong web layout and web design skills HTML/CSS a must
Excellent creative/aesthetic judgment and the ability to communicate it
Strong eye for typography, and photography
Must be self-motivated with a positive attitude

Strong online portfolio and list of URLs demonstrating skills a mustfor consideration

Front End Developer
Support of a Front End Web Developer with rock solid HTML and CSS coding skills as well as design skills.
We are looking for someone with a passion for standard compliant coding and quality design.
The Front End Web Developer will work on
client projects and will participate on related Balance project teams.
This is a contract, telecommute position with a flexible commitment of hours per week. Local candidates only.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
Ability to write XHTML and CSS by hand using hack free solutions
Ability to take an existing site and enhance its design with CSS without having a visual mockup as reference
Experience with JavaScript libraries such as jQuery
Strong understanding of content driven sites and their possibilities and limitations
Experience with Drupal theming
An eye for design with regard to content presentation and user interfaces
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
Ability to work independently and in teams
Excellent communication skills
Ability to meet tight deadlines
Detailed and organized
Problem solver who knows when to ask questions
Responsibilities include:
Build hand-coded tableless W3C-Valid XHTML/CSS templates
Drupal theming
Produce and test for cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility
Design user-flow diagrams, site maps, and wire frames
Skills and Experience Required
>BA/BS degree in Graphic Design, Computer Science or web related technologies preferred but not required.
2-3 years of proven agency experience or related hands-on web experience
Strong understanding of web standards, usability and accessibility
Understanding and experience with user-centered design methodologies and practices, in particular the role of design in creating usable and effective web interfaces
Bonus Skills
Knowledge of any content management system, including Drupal,Joomla, WordPress, DotNetNuke and/or Ektron
Experience implementing solutions for mobile devices
